Kevin Pickett
Executive Director of Development

Kevin has been involved in gift planning for over 15 years. His experience includes positions of Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Kentucky Christian University, Director of Estate and Asset Services for the American Cancer Society and his current position as Executive Director of Development for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where he leads a team of planned giving and annual fund professionals.

Kevin's talented team raises funds across the United States to support the mission and vision of MD Anderson Cancer Center. In support of over 125,000 patients and their families they provide critical resources for the brilliant physicians and researchers. Together they are Making Cancer History®.

Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Kentucky Christian University, earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. Kevin is an active member of his church, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, its local chapter the Planned Giving Council of Houston and member of the Leadership Institute.

Shelley Robson
Senior Director for Gift Planning

Shelley has over 15 years of experience with non-profits and 5 years in the for profit sector in sales and marketing. She joined the Development Office at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2007. She currently manages the Gift Planning Fundraising Team and works with a portfolio of donors interested in giving major and planned gifts to the institution. Prior to MD Anderson, Shelley worked with CARE, a humanitarian organization fighting global poverty.

Shelley graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. She serves as Chair of the Board for Angela House an organization that assists women to successfully transition to society after incarceration. She is a member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.

Richard Bennett
Senior Associate Director for Gift Planning

Richard joined The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in July of 2014. Prior to joining MD Anderson, Richard was the Planned Giving officer for Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. In this role Richard was busy traveling the nation representing Loma Linda's 8 professional schools and 5 hospitals. He holds a bachelor's degree in Linguistics from Pacific Union College in Angwin, California and is a member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.

Richard has 21 years of experience in international sales and investment banking which took him to live in France, China, Russia and Puerto Rico. He enjoys spending time with his wife Kori traveling, exploring Texas, building things and "riding herd" on their 6 children.

Cindy Atmar
Director for Gift Planning

Cindy joined The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2014 with more than twenty-five years of fund development and management experience. Over her career she has served in regional and national capacities for the American National Red Cross, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Since both her mother and her grandmother were patients at MD Anderson, she is especially honored to be working with our wonderful donors to create legacy gifts that will make a lasting impact.

She is a member of both the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a past board member of the Planned Giving Council of Houston, and founding Chair of Community Health Charities of Texas. Cindy, a cum laude graduate of UMass Boston and a Certified Fundraising Executive, enjoys traveling, reading and real estate. She and her husband Richard, a third generation Houstonian, also enjoy time with their teenage son, Jack, and two German Shepherds.

Kendall Monroe
Associate Director for Gift Planning

Kendall joined the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2012. Prior to joining the Planned Giving Team, Kendall's work in the Development Office focused primarily on major gifts. Kendall holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Communication from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, and a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Prior to coming to MD Anderson, Kendall worked in development and fundraising in the non-profit sector.

Kendall and her husband, Will, have two rescue dogs, Rocko and Goldie. In her free time, she likes to exercise, spend time with family and friends, and try Houston's newest restaurants.

Cristina Fleeks
Assistant Director for Gift Planning

A member of MD Anderson Cancer Center's Planned Giving Team, Cristina joined the institution in 2008. Prior to MD Anderson, Cristina was an occupational medicine coordinator. She holds a bachelor's degree in health with a minor in business from Sam Houston State University.

As Assistant Director of Development, Cristina works with the University of Texas System on estate/trust management, and is responsible for reporting on planned giving for the institution. She also assists with coordinating MD Anderson's legacy society, the Monroe Dunaway Anderson Society.

In her spare time, Cristina enjoys spending time with her family and friends and visiting Texas wineries.

Geri Davis
Senior Development Specialist

Geri has been a part of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's development office since July 2005 and is supervisor of the Contact Initiative Program.

She has many years of experience in the fields of manufacturing, retail, education and philanthropy.

Geri lives in Friendswood, is a workout enthusiast who also enjoys sailing and the outdoors.

She is the proud mother of one son, Darren, who serves in the USCG, a daughter-in-law Cathie and one granddaughter Emilie.

Nichelle Walker
Development Specialist

Nichelle joined the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Planned Giving Team in June 2012. Prior to joining MD Anderson, Nichelle worked as an executive assistant in the field of education. For over 12 years, Nichelle has been actively involved with By His Love Ministries, a non-profit organization at her husband's church. Nichelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and a Certification as a Non-profit Professional from The University of Houston.

Nichelle loves movies and enjoys spending time with her son Blake and her husband Castro traveling, golfing, and fishing.

Alysia Davis
Development Specialist

Alysia joined The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2014. Prior to MD Anderson she was an auditor for the federal government. Her audit portfolio work ranged from education, defense and natural resources issues. After moving around for the past several years she is happy to be back in southeast Texas. Alysia holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Prairie View A&M University and a Masters of Public Affairs from the LBJ School at The University of Texas at Austin. In her spare time Alysia likes to spend time with family and friends, visit new restaurants, travel and site-see.
